Get Ready for Jet Lag: The Game Hide & Seek across DART
In just a few days, DATA will be hosting our first ever Jet Lag game in Dallas
Important Notice: DART will have light rail disruptions on the Red Line for all stations north of Galatyn Park. As such, these stations will be restricted from the game map (CityLine/Bush, Downtown Plano, Parker Road)
On Saturday, August 9, 2025, DATA will be hosting a Jet Lag game across the DART light rail network.
Jet Lag: The Game is an American travel competition web series created by Wendover Productions and published on Nebula and YouTube. In the series, players travel across entire countries or regions using public transportation, completing challenges or competing in games that test strategy, geography knowledge, and quick thinking.
The Dallas Edition adapts this concept to our city, using DART Light Rail and surrounding areas to create a fast-paced urban adventure. Instead of traveling across states, participants will race across Dallas to hide, seek, and outwit their opponents.
This event is independently organized by the Dallas Area Transit Alliance and is not affiliated with Wendover Productions, Jet Lag: The Game, or Nebula.
How It Works
This edition will be played as a real-life hide-and-seek game using public transit. Here’s how it will work:
Game Day & Schedule
Meet-up Time: 9:00 AM at EBJ Union Station
Game Start: 9:30 AM
Game End: 7:00 PM (or sunset)
Hiding Time: 30 minutes per round
Objective
If you’re the Hider, your goal is to pick a hiding spot (within 0.5 miles of any DART Light Rail station) and stay hidden as long as possible while answering questions from Seekers.
If you’re a Seeker, your job is to find the Hider using clues, strategic questioning, and DART’s transit network.
Official Rules
1. Hiding & Seeking
One team is the Hider and uses DART Light Rail (or buses, TRE, or streetcar) to reach their hiding spot.
The Seekers remain at the station and must not watch the Hider leave.
Once hidden, the Hider has 30 minutes before Seekers begin searching.
2. Hider Movement
The Hider must stay within a ½-mile radius of their chosen DART Light Rail station.
During “end game” (when Seekers enter the zone), the Hider must remain in place.
3. Seeker Mechanics
Seekers can ask questions from six pre-defined categories to narrow down the Hider’s location.
Each correct answer allows Seekers to strategize and plan their route.
4. Safety & Tracking
All players must share their live location with teammates and one designated safety contact (apps like Find My Friends, Google Share Location, or Life360 are recommended).
5. Rounds & Winning
After each round, once the Hider is found, a new Hider is chosen and starts from the last found location (the timer only starts after reaching a rail station).
Winner: The player who stays hidden the longest wins!
Dallas-Specific Rules
Hiders must stay within ½ mile of any DART Light Rail station.
Other DART services (bus, TRE, or streetcar) can be used only if the hiding spot is near a light rail station. (GoLink is excluded.)
Special “Seekers Game” Mode
Teams may choose to play a special Seekers Game if there is extended or extra interest
Want more competition? In Seekers Mode, two teams compete to be the fastest to find the Hider:
Time-based: The team with the shortest seeking time wins.
Points-based: Points awarded for finding the Hider first; most points wins.
